Regulations on battery energy storage systems are up for discussion at a neighborhood meeting the city of Surprise has scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30.

Surprise is hosting the meeting to discuss the zoning text amendment to the land development ordinances to create a land use category for battery energy storage systems and hazardous materials.

It will be held in the Overflow Room at Surprise City Hall, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza.
