Artists wanted to create art at Surprise police substation

Professional artists and artist teams are invited to apply for a major public art commission at the future police substation at 163rd Avenue and San Ysidro Road.

Finalists will receive a $1,500 honorarium plus travel and lodging, and the selected artist will receive a contract of approximately $165,000 for design, fabrication and installation.

The 32,000-square-foot police substation is expected to open in fall 2027.
