Sun City West residents pack PORA meeting to discuss BNSF project

Property Owners and Residents Association officials held an open board meeting Sept. 16 with a packed room of residents looking for clarity on the BNSF Railway intermodal project.

BNSF committee member Daun “Deedee” Runner explained how the board and committee invited officials from the railway July 30 to a closed meeting at PORA where community and committee concerns were shared.

Runner said roughly 800 letters have been submitted to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and PORA officials has collected roughly 3,000 petitions of opposition.
