Concerning credit card fees discussions, it seems what is really needed is encouragement to use member credit as a less costly way of payment for golf and pro shop purchases. During a conversation, one pro shop employee mentioned many golfers make small purchases with a credit card, such as a golfer who had bought a $1.25 snack purchase with a credit card. However, because members are encouraged to call or add member credit by phone, they should not have to pay a fee.
Perhaps allowing member credit and rec fee purchases to be at “no fee” would encourage many, especially part-time individuals, to use that as a convenient and less costly way of paying.
