Surprise art house seeks authors for Walking Through Words exhibit

Posted

WHAM Art Center is accepting submissions for the second annual Walking Through Words through Oct. 13.

Authors selected for the exhibition will be notified within five days of submitting the application.

Published and self-published authors from throughout Arizona, representing all genres, are invited to submit their books for the opportunity to be featured in this gallery experience, scheduled to be on display Nov. 3–28.

The exhibition offers Arizona authors an opportunity to introduce their work to new readers, connect with fellow writers, and become part of a growing community that values creativity.

“Walking Through Words is a unique opportunity to celebrate both the authors and the artistry behind their books,” said WHAM Art Center Executive Director Connie Whitlock, in a prepared statement.

“This exhibition gives writers the chance to share their stories in a gallery setting while connecting with readers, fellow creatives, and the community.”

Unlike a traditional book event, Walking Through Words changes book covers in to framed display posters exhibited alongside the corresponding books, stated the release.

Each accepted author will also share an author biography and book summary, giving visitors a chance to discover the stories, inspiration, and creative journeys behind each publication. Books will be available for purchase during the exhibition.

Whether you published your first novel, a collection of poetry, a children’s book, a memoir, a mystery, science fiction, fantasy, romance, historical fiction, nonfiction, or a book in any other genre, Walking Through Words celebrates the “passion, perseverance, and imagination that bring stories to life,” noted the release.

Submission guidelines, the prospectus, and application materials are available at wham-art.org.
