New homes planned for Sun City West

Plans are reportedly under consideration for a new residential development in Sun City West.

Hovnanian Homes is considering constructing approximately 50 single family residences in the vacant area behind the Fry’s Grocery, 19403 N. RH Johnson Blvd. Some of the homes will have views of the Hillcrest Golf Course.

Public notice signs have been posted between the Church on the Green and the Goodwill Store on R. H. Johnson Blvd.No date has yet been set for a hearing before the Maricopa Planning & Zoning Commission. That hearing will be held at the County Supervisors Auditorium, 205 West Jefferson St, Phoenix.

Representatives of the developer will hold a neighborhood meeting about the project, 10:30-11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, to provide more information about the project and welcome residents’ opinions. That meeting will be at the R. H. Johnson Recreation Center Social Hall, 19803 R. H. Johnson Blvd.
