First Baptist Women’s Ministry hosts tea/salad luncheon

The Women’s Ministry at First Baptist Church, 17419 N. Conquistador Drive, invites ladies from the community to a free tea/salad luncheon and fall Bible study kickoff 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, in the church’s Christian Life Center.

Women are encouraged to dress up, wear a hat and bring their favorite teacup and saucer. A variety of salads will be provided by church members and tea will be in abundance. The event’s theme is “Fall Into the Word” and Mary Kaye Wonner, Minister of Worship at Avondale Baptist Church, will speak about the importance of being in God’s Word.

The event will also serve as the “kickoff” for the women’s fall Bible study, which will consist of six weekly sessions beginning 10 a.m. Oct. 6 in the CLC. The study, based on Max Lucado’s book, “Jesus—the God Who Knows Your Name,” will be led by Nancy Jakes, Minister of Worship and Administration at First Baptist. Study books are $10 each and will be available for purchase at the tea or in the church office Mondays through Thursdays.

Women planning to attend should call the church office at 623-584-5738 before noon Sept. 29 to reserve a space.
