Crandall: Street parking enforcement

Posted

This is an alert to all residents of Sun City West. Sun City West is one of the most beautiful active-adult retirement communities in the nation. It is up to us to keep it that way. The CC&R parking restrictions have expired, and without a yes vote to amend this latest attempt by the state legislature to turn our streets into a giant parking lot for RV’S, trucks (whether working or not), trailers, boats and other oversized vehicles, the Recreation Centers will no longer be able to enforce parking restrictions on our streets.

Not only will the aesthetic value of our homes be affected, there’s the safety consideration. All the unwelcome and unlimited permanent parking will mean cars and bicycles will be forced to travel down the center of the streets, even backing out or your driveway will be a visual challenge.

The time is short for us to make a difference so please don’t ignore this most critical decision. The deadline is March 25, and you can vote online when your vote will be counted by March 21, or you may vote in person at the Library Data Resource Center (enter on north side). If you’re unable to use either of these, call 623-544-6110 for assistance no later than March 13. This is really important so let your voice be heard!
