With gas prices continuing to put pressure on drivers, the Sun City Posse is turning to hybrid vehicles as a way to save on fuel without sacrificing the comfort or performance of its patrol cars.
The group recently purchased two hybrid Ford Explorers to be part of its 14-car fleet.
The group also has two electric Hyundai Ioniqs and solar panels on top of the canopies in the headquarters parking lot. Tim Lambin, who works in the posse garage and is a patroller, said purchasing the new hybrids is a continuation of that effort.
