Sun City board approves $2.7 million for golf course renovation

The North Golf Course in Sun City is set for renovation after a unanimous vote to approve a $2.7 million budget for the project. Construction, according to Recreation Centers of Sun City President Tom Foster, is set to begin in late April, with the course likely closed until early October.

One of the reasons for the renovation is new requirements from the Arizona Department of Water Resources on the amount of water that can be used.

“In order to try and meet those requirements into the future, we started with trying to replace some of the turf on golf courses,” Foster said.
