Oct. 27 marked the final board meeting for Sun City Fire and Medical Department Board Chairman Tim Wilmes. A new chairperson will be sworn in at the next meeting along with Rick Gray, who currently serves on the RCSC board.
Wilmes has been the board’s chairperson for six years, though has been on the board for eight. He moved to the district full time in 2016 and joined the board in 2018 after his neighbor had a medical incident. When the department arrived on scene, Wilmes started giving information about the patient.
He spoke to the captain afterwards, who suggested he run for the board.
