Artists by the Lake Club members were recently challenged to create a pet portrait and the results are as varied as the artists. All the efforts can be viewed in the display windows outside the club on the second floor of the Lakeview Recreation Center, 10626 W. Thunderbird Blvd. The portraits include cats, birds, turtles, fish and dogs.
April classes are now forming in drawing, oil and acrylic painting, from beginner to advanced level, pastel and mixed media, as well as an alcohol ink workshop for the beginning of the month. One must be an Artists by the Lake to sign up for classes.
The club is open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday. Bring a valid RCSC card and a check for $10 to join. All levels welcome.
