RCSC, MCLD close on new library leases

Both confident in 5-year renewal

The Recreation Centers of Sun City and Maricopa County Library District are close to signing new five-year leases for the Bell and Fairway public libraries following an April 16 meeting.

“The RCSC Board would like to report that we are making progress defining the terms of a five-year lease agreement with Maricopa County Library District, which would replace the current five-year lease (2019-2024) that expires on June 30,” the RCSC stated in an email release April 17. “The RCSC board is confident that a mutually agreeable contract will be drawn up that provides our residents with the very best of library services for years to come.”

Samantha Mears, MCLD marketing and communications director, said library district officials came out of the meeting with confidence the leases would be renewed soon.
