I am personally appalled at the thought of possibly closing the two libraries in Sun City. What department in Maricopa County and/or Sun City RCSC elected or paid management officials discussed the idea with the 36,500-plus (2024 county statistic), homeowners?
Will we have an input and will our wishes and concerns be heard by everyone who is making the decision for our entire community? And if so, who will make the final decision?
I am a Friends of the Sun City Libraries reader at two nursing facilities in Sun City and enjoy reading to the residents as much as they enjoy my reading to them. What a wonderful library program this is, full of love, laughter, caring, education, cupcakes and special moments for the residents and me .. along with my fellow readers.
Please don’t take our library volunteer work away by closing the libraries. Whether inside the libraries enjoying everything they offer or taking the library programs on the road, there is a genuine and meaningful connection for us all.
