Artists by the Lake celebrate show success in Sun City

More than 900 residents stopped by the Artists by the Lake’s art show last month.

Ribbons were given in the Beginner category to Nancy Foulk, first place, Mina Dewitt, second place, Paula Wakefield, third place, and Linda Wilson, honorable mention. In the Intermediate category, Dilda Curtis received the first place, Vicki Woltertstoff received second place, Rod Fensom was awarded third place and Diane Fisher and Eileen Moore won honorable mentions. In the Advanced category, Karen Bell won first place, Terri Lewis won second place, Linda Ruckman won third place and Ginny Olson, Janice Rouen-Lydon and Melinda Martin won honorable mentions. In the Professional category, Deb Dahlin won first place, A R Bourque won second place, Josh Thompson won third place and Kelly Abraham and Marlene Bonneville won honorable mentions. Best in Show and People’s Choice went to Georgia Feiste for her painting “Freedom Fighter.”

The club’s many volunteers helped set up and run the show. The show committee, which met for a year to bring off this event, included Deb Dahlin, Josh Thompson, Ginny Olson, Nancy Foulk, Linda Wilson, Linda Ruckman, club president, and treasurer Georgia Feiste. Karen Bell, Peggy Juneau and Jan Olmstead put together an artist’s reception as well. Planning for next year has already begun.

To become a member of Artists by the Lake, visit the club 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday with a valid RCSC card and a check for $10. Classes are offered for all levels of experience, from beginner to advanced for an additional charge. Artists by the Lake is located on the second floor of the Lakeview Recreation Center, 10626 Thunderbird Blvd.
