Meet Your Neighbor: Vicki Petrosky selected Honorary Dutchman

Vicki Petrosky, a 15-year volunteer with the Superstition Mountain Promotional Corp. and the treasurer for the Lost Dutchman Days rodeo, was recently selected as this year’s Honorary Dutchman, an award that is given to longtime volunteers.

SMPC along with volunteers from the Apache Junction Mounted Rangers, a peacekeeping organization, put on the Lost Dutchman Days rodeo, which this year is Feb. 23-25. Funds raised from the rodeo are given to children’s charities.

Petrosky also is a member of the Goldfield Ghost Riders, which donates to children’s charities; and she also does charity work for Elks Lodge No. 2349 in Apache Junction.

Were you surprised to be named this year’s Honorary Dutchman and why?: Yes I was. Just really didn’t think about it

What originally brought you to the Valley? My husband’s job

How are you involved in the local community? I am a member of the Goldfield Ghost Riders that donate to children’s charities. I also do charity work for The Elks Lodge No. 2349

What drew you to your community? I wanted horses.

What do you most cherish from your childhood? Summertime sports.
