Phoenix worker unaccounted for after monsoon storm

One man is believed to be dead after a powerful monsoon storm Wednesday broke power poles and collapsed at least one Phoenix roof.

The man — whose name was not released — is unaccounted for after he was working at a commercial distribution center when a “partial” roof collapse happened near 43rd Avenue and Van Buren Street, said Todd Keller, a spokesman for the Phoenix Fire Department.

As of Thursday afternoon, fire crews were sifting through the rubble.
