Two killed in single-car accident in northwest Phoenix
Two people were killed early Friday morning in Phoenix when police believe their car hit a pole and burst into flames.
Phoenix police said officers responded to a call about 6 a.m. July 26 in the 12800 block of North 35th Avenue. There they found a woman outside the car who was on fire. Phoenix Fire also responded and put the fire out. The woman was transported to the hospital where she died.
After putting out the car fire, police found another victim still in the car, according to a press release.

Witnesses told police the car had been traveling northbound on 35th Avenue at high speed when the car veered out of control and struck a metal power pole, according to a press release.
