OPINION — I enjoyed reading Zev Black’s article about Marine veteran Roger Langley and want to thank Mr. Langley very much for his service!
I just had one small comment about the caption with Mr. Langley’s photo.
I’m a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary and have many Marine veteran friends. One thing they all insisted on was that there are Marine veterans, or retired Marines, but there is no such thing as a “former” Marine. Once a Marine, always a Marine. Semper Fi!

Again, thanks to Mr. Langley for his service. I hope he has a wonderful Honor Flight trip with his son. The veterans I know that have taken that trip have all said it is a life-changer.
Roger Langley was identified in the caption as a former Marine lance corporal, in accordance with Associated Press guidelines.
