Vallow Daybell back in AZ to face murder charges

Former Arizona resident Lori Vallow Daybell is back in the Grand Canyon State to face charges in her alleged role of the death of her fourth husband, Charles Vallow, and also of allegedly conspiring to kill her niece’s ex-husband.

“(On 11/27) MCSO deputies departed Maricopa County by vehicle, traveling to Pocatello, Idaho, to take custody of, and extradite, accused murderer, Lori Vallow,” the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

“Deputies from the (extradition detail) and K-9 traveled by vehicle — as it was determined weather conditions could impede seamless transfer due to potential air travel complications.”

Deputies got back to Maricopa County around midnight Nov. 30, the press release said.

Vallow Daybell faces one count of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree premeditated murder, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

In August, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office started the process to extradite Vallow Daybell to eventually stand trial on charges of conspiracy to commit murder.

MCAO delivered paperwork over the summer called requisition for extradition that requires Vallow Daybell to stand trial in the Valley stemming from her alleged role in the death of her fourth husband, Charles Vallow, and also of allegedly conspiring to kill her niece’s ex-husband, the Associated Press reported in August.

In July, Vallow Daybell was sentenced to life in prison without parole in Idaho for her role in the deaths of her two children.

The Arizona extradition could not begin until the Idaho sentence was complete, said Jeanine L’Ecuyer, spokeswoman for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office told the Daily Independent over the summer.

Both Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs and Idaho Gov. Brad Little had to sign off on extradition paperwork to bring Vallow Daybell back to Maricopa County, L’Ecuyer said.

Vallow Daybell was found guilty in May of killing her two youngest children — 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 16-year-old Tylee Ryan — as well as conspiring to kill Tammy Daybell, her fifth husband’s previous wife, the AP reported. Vallow Daybell will serve three life sentences one after the other, the AP reported.

Her husband, Chad Daybell, will stand trial on the same murder charges as Vallow Daybell, according to the AP.
