The Scottsdale Police Department has released the name and further information about the shooting victim found early Sunday morning.

Police officials say the victim has been identified as 59-year-old Scott Harkness.

Harkness was a member of the special needs community, officials say, and was an active participant in the city of Scottsdale adaptive recreation program. He was also an athlete with the Scottsdale Special Olympics Team, the Bobcats.

Detectives continue investigating this case and the department is asking for the public’s help with information on this case. People can submit information through the police department’s tip system anonymously.
