Shooting death being investigated by Scottsdale Police

Scottsdale Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a person found on the side of the road in the early hours of Feb. 6, officials say.

The victim was found near 9700 E. Camelback Road, police say.

Around 1:10 a.m., 911 dispatchers received calls about gunshots in the area, police say. A witness was driving on Camelback Road and saw an individual laying on the side of the road.

First responders responded to the location, and the victim was transported to a local hospital where they died, police say. The public identification of the victim is awaiting next-of-kin notification.

Scottsdale detectives are reportedly investigating.
