A 60-year-old woman died after she was hit by a U-Haul truck Friday night at McClintock Drive and Curry Road in Tempe, police said.

The collision occurred about 6:10 p.m. April 21, and police said their preliminary investigation indicates the truck was traveling north on McClintock when it turned west into a private drive before Curry Road.

The U-Haul struck the woman who was on the sidewalk, according to police.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver remained at the location of the collision “is cooperative with police, and impairment is not a factor,” authorities said.

Police are continuing to investigate.
