A Valley woman and man were was sentenced to probation for vandalizing multiple cars during a pro-Palestinian protest last year.
Lisa Karlovsky, 52, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal damage and was sentenced to 18 months of supervised probation in the January 2024 incident, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
Karlovsky and another man were seen on surveillance video defacing cars of protesters while walking up and down the street. According to the county attorney’s office, the duo scratched messages such as “murderer” and “rapist” into the cars along with the Star of David.
The man in the video, Bryan Long, 48, was sentenced to 12 months of supervised probation in the case after pleading guilty to one count of criminal damage, according to a press release.
More than 10 cars were damaged, with total damages costing $45,000, according to a press release.
“We’re lucky to live in a country where we’re free to disagree and hold different beliefs. But when those differences lead someone to cross over into breaking the law, they will be held accountable,” said Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell.
