Homecoming week at Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church, 13658 W. Meeker Blvd., gives top billing to three special events open to everyone in the community. All will take place on the church campus and are free unless otherwise noted.

A masquerade concert featuring Dan Reed on trumpet and Nicole Pesce on piano will be 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30,. Costumes are encouraged (not scary) and “selfies” can be taken at the haunted house photo booth. Tickets are $10 in advance or at the door.

Movie night Wednesday, Nov. 1, will highlight “Mission Joy”, a film not available in theaters or by streaming. This film shares the humor and wisdom of two of the world’s most beloved icons and Noble Peace Prize Laureates, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. They unite for one final mission: to show the world how to live with joy even in troubled times. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and the movie starts at 6:30 p.m. with free all-you-can-eat popcorn.

Then, on Friday, Nov. 3, the community is invited to participate in a blood drive hosted by Shepherd of the Hills in conjunction with Vitalant Blood Services. The mobile unit will be in the church parking lot from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sign up atshepherdofthehills.org or call 623-584-2280 for more information.
