Even inside State Farm Stadium – home to Super Bowls and other megaevents – a few footsteps brought down the house.
Jett Weinstein graduated alongside almost 650 of his fellow Class of ’24 seniors from Mountain Ridge High School Thursday afternoon in Glendale. But his walk across the stage was different. It was 102 days earlier when the 17-year-old and his buddy Jaxson Elliot, 16, were in a single-car accident on I-17 near Cordes Junction as they were driving back from Flagstaff.
Elliot, the driver of the vehicle, tragically died in the crash. Weinstein would lose his right leg after the highway’s guardrail tore through the passenger side of the car.
