Rezoning 14.77 acres at the southwest corner of Superstition Boulevard and Royal Palm Road for the development of a 166-unit rental residential community of single-family-type homes with some duplexes is to be discussed Tuesday by the Apache Junction Planning and Zoning Commission.
The commission meets at 7 p.m. Sept. 28 in the City Council chambers, 300 E. Superstition Blvd.
A presentation, discussion, public hearing and vote are planned about rezoning the property from general rural low density single-family detached residential to high density multiple-family residential by planned development.
Chris Hundelt of Keystone Homes, represented by Brennan Ray of Burch & Cracchiolo P.A., is the applicant; and Keystone Homes is the owner.
The 166-residence gated community will be at a density of approximately 13.67 dwelling units per acre, Ray wrote in a letter to surrounding land owners about a Sept. 7 neighborhood meeting.
“The Havenly Superstition represents a lifestyle choice, presenting future residents a unique living experience and an alternative housing choice to the traditional options of single-family residences or apartment complexes,” according to a written project narrative by Keystone Homes. “The Havenly Superstition combines the best elements of residential single-family living with multi-family-like lease terms and management.”
