The Gallery at The Madison to open in Phoenix

A new performing arts venue in Phoenix, Madison Center for the Arts, announces the opening of The Gallery at The Madison, which is an art exhibition featuring pieces by local artists.

Opening to the public from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on June 26, according to a press release, the gallery will have a VIP grand opening from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m on June 12.

Conceived through a desire to add visual appeal and beauty the venue’s lobby, the release said The Gallery at the Madison provides a chance for the community to experience works of visual arts at no cost.

“We recognized that there was an abundance of artists throughout Arizona without the outlet to show their extraordinary works,” said Ari Levin, executive director of The Madison Center for the Arts, in a prepared statement.

“This spurred the desire to create a gallery that could not only benefit local artists with a beautiful space to show their work, but create opportunities for the community to engage and experience the arts.”

The Gallery currently features works of Alisha Marie Anglin and Holly Anderson, noted the release.

Anglin, who lives and works as a professional abstract artist in Phoenix, uses bold compositions created in abstract expressionist, cubist and gestural styles painted with acrylics on canvas while applying geometric and wild patterns to deliberately distorted forms, the release described.

Anglin has been in numerous exhibitions and is an American artist with Singulart based in Paris. An advocate for the art and Phoenix community, she taught an ornament painting class at Moya Elementary School for fourth graders in Phoenix.

Upon completion of the class, she donated 30 art kits with canvases for the holidays to students who come from low-income homes. Anderson, a contemporary abstract artist, specializes in organic, textural canvas works, customized large scale art installations.

Brightening many high-rise office buildings and hotels, the release said her art is also in private collection worldwide. Anderson is known as a real, natural artist with an “intuitive mind and eye when it comes to materials, color and form.”

Her pieces consist of composition, abstraction, organic movement, emotion, fluency, texture and light in her paintings inspired by yoga, internal arts, human emotion and water.

Anderson is contracted with several top art consultants and companies including Marriott Hotels, Paramount Pictures, Microsoft, FOX and more, the release added.

Open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Gallery is in The Madison Center for the Arts lobby at 5601 N 16th St., Phoenix, according to the release.

Showcased artwork will be switched out three months, allowing multiple local artists the opportunity to have their work displayed. The Gallery is free to the public.
