Copa Health named Tempe Mayor Corey Woods its Community Leader at its annual gala.
Woods was recognized recently “not only because of his commitment locally, statewide and nationally to affordable housing but also because of his vision for La Victoria Commons,” according to a release.
La Victoria Commons is an affordable housing and health hub being developed in the Apache Corridor by Copa Health in partnership with Newtown CDC.
The development promotes “a viable path to affordable housing and homeownership for low-incomed individuals and families,” the release stated.
The healthcare and navigation services provided by Copa Health, once La Victoria Commons is open, will benefit those living in the neighborhood or anyone in need, officials said.
