One week remains before Tempe voters will decide the fate of the Tempe Entertainment District and Arizona Coyotes arena, and city officials are emphasizing the importance of returning mail-in ballots today.
Those who are returning their ballots by mail should do so on Tuesday, May 9, to ensure they are received on time for the May 16 election, they said.
There are other options, but they take some time and leg work:
“For the Tempe History Museum option, it is easiest if voters bring the ballot they received in the mail,” city officials said in a release.
Those who do not have their ballots should bring a form of acceptable identification, such as an Arizona driver’s license, a state-issued ID or a tribal ID. The address on the ID must match the voter registration address, according to election officials.
The election ballot includes three propositions related to the construction of an entertainment district and arena for the Arizona Coyotes.
The development would be built on 46 acres at the northeast corner of Priest Drive and Rio Salado Parkway. In addition to the arena, the project includes residential units, restaurants, stores and other features.
