Tempe ends Earth Month with events to aid the planet

Tempe residents have options for ending Earth Month.

Zero Waste Day will take place from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 29, when unwanted items from closets and garages can be brought to the Tempe Fire Training Center, 1340 E. University Drive, for proper disposal or reuse.

The center will be accepting paper for shredding, building supplies, Goodwill donations, school supplies for teachers, pet food and supplies, bicycles and more.

In addition, Keep Tempe Beautiful, which will be participating in Zero Waste Day, is looking for volunteers on April 29 to help plant trees in Daley and Hudson parks.

Daley Park is at 1625 S. College Ave. Hudson Park is at 1430 S. Cedar St.
