Omar Meraz Hernandez, 14, died at a hospital after the vehicle he was in crashed into a pole Saturday afternoon near 35th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road, police said Monday.
The collision occurred about 3:10 p.m. April 19, and preliminary information suggests the vehicle driven by a man was heading south on 35th Avenue when it left the road and struck a pole.
The three people in the vehicle were taken to a hospital. The two adults had life-threatening injuries, police said in an earlier release.
Impairment is not believed to be a factor. An investigation is continuing. Police did not release any identities.
