Bullard Avenue in Surprise will come alive on Veterans Day as the city has released details about its yearly parade to honor the men and women who have served the country.

The ninth annual parade, which will run along Bullard Avenue between Paradise and Tierra Buena lanes, will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11.

The parade is expected to feature community floats, bands and dancers.

City officials are looking for clubs, organizations, groups or residents to participate in the parade for free.

Those who are interested should log on to surpriseaz.gov/surpriserec and click on “Special Events.” The phone option is a call to the Parks and Recreation Office at 623-222-2000.

Entries are due by Saturday, Oct. 28.

The Surprise Police Department will also stage a breakfast and coffee event from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the centerfield plaza of Surprise Stadium. The food cost $7 per person.

Parade organizers include the city’s Parks and Recreation Department and WM, formerly Waste Management.

Sponsors include Banner Health Del E. Webb Medical Center, Sanderson Ford and Sanderson Lincoln.
