Anyone looking to pick up a ticket to the Super Bowl in Phoenix this year may want to look at getting a personal loan.
With fans of the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles contemplating a trip to the Valley for the game, they can expect to pay a pretty penny to attend if they're hitting aftermarket sites.
How much? Seats start at roughly $5,000 for the upper deck, with prices fetching much more depending on how close a fan wants to get.
On ticket resale site Stubhub.com, prices ranged from $5,087 per seat all the way up to nearly $37,000. The expensive option will get you seats in the fourth row on the 45 yardline.
Over at reseller Seatgeek.com, single tickets could be had starting at $4,832. That selection capped out near $25,000 per seat, but did have a block going for $38,284 each.
Those prices do not include either sites' fees. While Stubhub.com does not list its prices with fees until a purchase is nearly made, Seatgeek.com does. With fees factored in, the lowest prices is nearly $6,400 for a single seat, and the most expensive bumps to more than $50,000.
Some lucky Arizona Cardinals fans will be offered a chance to buy a ticket a face value, having been enterted into a lottery. Same with those season ticket holders of the Chiefs and the Eagles.
Each team playing in the Super Bowl gets an allotment of 17.5% of tickets to sell to its season ticket holders. Those tickets likely will go for more than $1,000 each. The host team gets about 5% of the seat allotment.
