Sun City Roads and Safety Committee addresses speeding concerns

The Sun City Home Owners Association hosted its monthly Roads and Safety Committee meeting Jan. 21 to discuss Sun City happenings and provide December statistics. The meeting also marked the first for new Committee Chair Greg Bradley.

Members from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department were in attendance, including Deputy Bill Cornwell. He said the department received 775 calls for service from Sun City during December. There were also 309 traffic stops over the course of the month.

Speeding has been a major concern for residents in recent months. Deputy Dustin Baker said it’s a big help for him when residents let the sheriff’s office know of areas that see excessive speeding.
