The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for overnight lane closures in mid-September on State Route 88 Apache Trail between Idaho Road in Apache Junction and the end of the paved roadway (milepost 221) just past Tortilla Flat, for pavement maintenance.
SR88 will be reduced to one lane only from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights starting Sunday, Sept. 11, through Friday, Sept. 23, according to a release.
The length of the work zone will vary between 2 to 5 miles each night. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. Allow extra travel time.
ADOT advises drivers to slow down and use caution around maintenance personnel and equipment while work is underway.
