Speeding suspected in deadly Phoenix crash

Posted

Phoenix police detectives said they suspect speed was a major contributing factor that led to a fatal single-vehicle crash in west Phoenix early Sunday morning.

Just before 2 a.m. Feb. 23, officers responded to the collision near 59th Avenue and Indian School Road. Phoenix Fire Department personnel were first to arrive and pronounced 20-year-old Jesus Dominguez-Romo dead.

Detectives took over the investigation and learned Dominguez-Romo was driving west on Indian School Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control, crashing into a tree on the north side of the road, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.
