Sicilian night special dinner April 28 at Dolce Vita in Mesa

Dolce Vita — a family-owned and operated Italian restaurant, gelato shop and grocer at 5251 E. Brown Road No. 104 in Mesa — is hosting a special Sicilian night dinner 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 28.

The business has been serving authentic Italian food using only fresh and local ingredients without additives for more than 12 years. Dolce Vita has also provided homemade gelato crafted daily, along with Italian imported meats, cheeses and pantry staples.

The special dinner is priced at $60 per person, or $50 per person if you opt out of the wine. The three-course meal starts off with insalata vastasa with potatoes, onions, and tomatoes. Next, you have your choice among pasta, the spaghetti with swordfish and eggplants made with mint and tomato sauce or the pasta incasciata, a baked pasta made with meat sauce, eggplants, and provolone., the release states.

For the main course, you may choose between involtini messinesi, which is beef rolls stuffed with breadcrumbs, ham and cheese or eggplant swordfish meatballs cooked in tomato sauce. Enjoy your meal with a glass of firriato nero d’avola. After your meal, feel free to roam to the gelato side of dolce vita and indulge in a coppa gelato (italian sundae) or any of their homemade gelato, according to the release.
