Secretary of state: Fontes leads Finchem in Arizona race

PHOENIX - Voting results late Wednesday showed  Republican Mark Finchem continuing to trail Democrat Adrian Fontes in the race for secretary of state.

Fontes was up by nearly 90,000 votes.

That gave him 52.5% of the votes tallied against 47.6% for Finchem.

The final numbers are likely to change, with more than 560,000 votes yet to be counted, though it remains unclear whether Finchem, who was down as far as 17 points on Tuesday night, can grab a big enough share of what's left to make up the deficit.
