Scottsdale’s code enforcement team joins police department

Posted

In a move designed to streamline operations and enhance neighborhood safety, the city of Scottsdale has transitioned its code enforcement team from the Planning and Development Services department to the Scottsdale Police Department.

This shift, effective June 1, is designed to improve efficiency, reduce duplication of efforts, and provide additional support through the resources and command structure of the police department, according to a press release.

The realignment brings the city’s 19-member code enforcement team under the umbrella of Scottsdale Police, allowing for a more coordinated response to quality-of-life issues such as property maintenance, zoning violations and public nuisance complaints.

Code Enforcement inspectors will continue to handle their traditional duties.
