A Fourth of July holiday task force is on the roads contacting drivers who may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The Scottsdale Police Department, in collaboration with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, the Department of Public Safety, Gilbert, Mesa, Salt River and Tempe officers, will be conducting the DUI task force and saturation patrol through Tuesday.

“The goal of the officers assigned to the task force is to contact those drivers that have made the disastrous decision to drive impaired and remove them from the roadway before they hurt others or themselves,” the Scottsdale department stated in a release.
