Scottsdale PD releases ID of suspect in Monday night shooting

The Scottsdale Police Department has identified Phillip Montera, 47, as the suspect in a shooting that sent another man to the hospital on July 3.
The victim remains in a Valley hospital, according to police. A woman was inside the residence at the time of the shooting, but no one else was shot during the incident.
Montera was arrested without incident near the front of the residence after the shooting, police said, adding that the suspect and victim “know each other and were hanging out together that day.” The shooting occurred about 11:40 p.m. July 3 near 68th and Second streets, police said.
Montera has been booked into the Maricopa County Jail for attempted second-degree homicide, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault – causing serious physical Injury and disorderly conduct.
