The Scottsdale Police Department is teaming up with other local law enforcement for a DUI task force and saturation patrol throughout the WM Phoenix Open, Feb. 7 - 10, as part of its efforts to enhance traffic safety in the community.
In collaboration with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, Arizona Department of Transportation and National Traffic Safety Administration, the Scottsdale Police Department, Chandler Police Department, Department of Public Safety, Gilbert Police Department, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, Tempe Police Department and Arizona Department of Liquor License and Control will be conducting education and enforcement during the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
The Know Your Limit education details will take place Wednesday, Feb. 7, through Saturday, Feb. 10, near the main entrance to the event. Following the event, the participating agencies will transition into enforcement and participate in a DUI task force. The purpose of the task force is to contact those drivers that have made the disastrous decision to drive impaired and remove them from the roadway before they hurt themselves or others.
