Scottsdale Independent hosts City Council candidate forum
Posted
Join the Scottsdale Independent for a candidate forum featuring the seven residents vying for a spot on Scottsdale City Council.
Beginning at 9 a.m., Wednesday, June 22, the Scottsdale Independent is hosting a candidate forum at Scottsdale City Hall, 3839 N. Drinkwater Blvd.
The forum will be moderated by Scottsdale Independent Lead News Editor Melissa Rosequist.
The Aug. 2 primary election features seven candidates who are seeking three open seats on Scottsdale City Council. To be elected at the Primary Election, a candidate must receive a majority of all of the legal votes cast for that candidate’s race. After the primary election, any remaining seats will compete in the Tuesday, Nov. 8 general election.
The candidates are:
Pamela Carter
Barry Graham
Daniel Ishac
Kathy Littlefield
Tim Stratton
Solange Whitehead
Raoul Zubia
Tuesday, July 5, is the voter registration deadline to participate in the Primary Election. Ballots will be mailed out on Wednesday, July 6.
Leading up to the forum and the election, the Independent is conducting online Q&A’s with the candidates to better learn each person’s position on various topics important to city residents including water issues, the housing market and more.
