Phoenix police detectives are investigating a fatal shooting stemming from a road rage incident along West Dunlap Avenue.

Officers responded about 6:30 p.m. Nov. 13 to the 2700 block of West Dunlap Avenue and found Aramis Ross, 22, with a gunshot wound. Phoenix Fire Department personnel took him to a hospital where he was diagnosed with a non-survivable, catastrophic brain injury, according to a release.

Homicide investigators processed the scene and conducted interviews, learning the victim and the suspect “were involved in an extended road rage incident,” police stated in the release.

After stopping in traffic near 2700 West Dunlap Avenue, the suspect fired a gun. The suspect, a 19-year-old man, was detained a short time later after he notified police of his involvement.

The investigation is ongoing, and once complete, the case will be submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for review, according to the release.
