The Priscilla Rose Band will perform Thursday, March 9, in the free Gilbert Concerts in the Park series at Water Tower Plaza, 45 W. Page Ave., Gilbert.

The Priscilla Rose Band is a four-piece classic rock dance band, based in the West Valley.

Keyboardist and vocalist Priscilla Pinches lived up and down the East Coast as an “Army Brat” growing up, but calls Blowing Rock, North Carolina, her childhood home. She has been a piano and voice teacher for more than 40 years. She has performed at the White House under two administrations.

Guitarist and vocalist Rich La Rose grew up outside Syracuse, New York, and began his music career playing KISS songs in his parent’s basement. He studied Jazz Composition and Arranging at S.U.N.Y Oswego.

Bassist and vocalist Ray Carter hails from Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. He grew up listening and playing Motown, soul and rhythm and blues music. He has performed with the Isley Bros. He is a frequent player at local jazz clubs such as The Nash, and Westside Blues and Jazz, where he has performed with Sandra Bassett, Michael Reed, and Lewis Nash.

Drummer and vocalist Charles “Spanky” Lake grew up outside Seattle. As a high school drummer, he was selected by Quincy Jones to perform with a national high school jazz ensemble, at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. He has also performed with Mel Tormé.

Concerts take place from 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. every Thursday in March. Performances will include a variety of family-friendly local musicians. Food trucks will be on-site during the event with refreshments.
