Police ID grandmother, granddaughter in West Valley shooting

Posted

Debra Green-Davis, 71, has been identified as the suspect in the shooting death of her granddaughter, Buckeye Police said Monday.

Larkeya Elliott,  31, has been identified as the victim in the killing during what authorities said was a domestic violence incident that occurred about 4 p.m. Dec. 15 at a home near 254th Avenue and Carson Drive, according to a release from the Buckeye Police Department.

Green-Davis has been booked into jail, police said.

In a release after the shooting, police stated officers issued commands for those inside the home to come outside, and a woman believed to be in her 50s left the house and was detained without incident, police said.

Officers went inside the home and found a woman in her early 30s with a gunshot wound. She was unresponsive. The woman was taken from the home and lifesaving measures were attempted. They were not successful.

Officers then found another woman, who is in her 70s, inside the home with a handgun nearby. She was detained without incident, according to a release from the Buckeye Police Department.

“Information gathered on scene suggests this was a domestic violence incident involving a grandmother, mother and granddaughter and that the grandmother shot the granddaughter,” the release stated.
