Phoenix Sky Harbor to light up in teal for Alzheimer’s awareness

Posted

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport will be among sites around the world to help Light the World in Teal to raise Alzheimer’s awareness.

The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America is organizing the effort that will take place Thursday, Nov. 2.

To date, more than 1,000 landmarks in all 50 states and 13 foreign countries have signed up to participate in the initiative, which takes place during National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. Teal is AFA’s Alzheimer’s awareness color.

Other locations already signed up for this year include One World Trade Center in New York, the Willis Tower in Chicago, and SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

“Every site that participates in this global initiative is making a difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease- and the more that join, the more awareness we will raise about Alzheimer’s,” Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr., AFA president and CEO, shared in a press release. “We invite everyone to ‘go teal’ on November 2 to show their support for the millions of people living with Alzheimer’s.”

Sites interested in participating in the Light the World in Teal Alzheimer’s Awareness program on Nov. 2 can sign up by visiting www.lighttheworldinteal.com or by calling 866-232-8484.
