Betty Webb will be the speaker at the May 29 meeting of the Scottsdale Society of Women Writers.
Former journalist, Betty Web is the author of twenty mysteries: the bestselling Lena Jones mystery series (“Desert Redemption” and “Desert Wives,” to name a few.). “Lost in Paris” (2023) was the first book in her new mystery series, set in 1922, France. Lost was followed this year by “The Clock Struck Murder.” Betty worked as a graphic designer in Los Angeles and New York City, but eventually shifted to journalism. In her years as a reporter, she’s interviewed everyone from U.S. presidents, astronauts who worked on the moon, Nobel Prize winners, and polygamy runaways. Betty teaches creative writing and has served as Writer in Residence at various Arizona libraries.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Panera Bread at Gainey Village, 8777 N. Scottsdale Road, suite 302, Scottsdale. Check in begins at 5:15 p.m.
