Phoenix police warn parents of new fentanyl pill ‘color scheme'

Posted

Speckled fentanyl tablets were removed from circulation by Phoenix police this week, authorities said.

Phoenix officials said it is the first time they have seen “fentanyl tablets with this color scheme."

The federal Drug Enforcement Administration has  referred to  the recent proliferation of colored fentanyl pills as an  “alarming trend.”

“This trend appears to be  new method used by drug cartels to sell highly addictive and potentially deadly fentanyl made to look like candy to children and young people,” DEA officials said in a release.
